T-Minus 2 Days

Stress. I have to fill in and teach Relief Society on Sunday and my palms are starting to sweat just thinking about it. Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely hate speaking in front of a group of people. I have prepared as much as I can on the topic, but cannot stop fearing that I will end with like 20 minutes remaining. I cannot wait until Sunday is over!

i know your stress! you'll feel good once it's all over with. The worst that could happen is you run out and ball to your husband the minute you get in the car...true story. You'll do great. You're much better at speaking than I am...and I manage to somehow get through it each month. Good luck.

Are you really your mothers daughter? Just kidding. I know you will do a great job. My heart goes out to you because I too hate to speak....(Am I really a sister to your mother, if I hate to speak?)

If I could give you any advice, it would be to let your personality into your lesson. If you do that your lesson will be a hugh sucess. I feel that when teachers don't let their personality be apart of their lesson's then the lesson just become another boring lesson. You have a great personality so let that lead you.

Good luck!!

Good luck Emily! I would be feeling the same way. I guess that's one good thing about being a sunbeam teacher! :)

I feel your pain. I do this every month. Just ask alot of questions and remember give them time to respond even if it is an uncomfortable silence. You will be surprised you will probably not even have enough time to cover half of your topic.

Good luck you can do it.

PS don't do that good of a job they will call you to that calling but that may not be a bad thing you will probably rock.

Ooooh, 510jen, just what I was going to say! Ask a lot of questions and wait for answers. Once people realize that you actually want them to answer, hands usually start raising. I feel some of my best lessons have come from discussions. If you do end 20 minutes early, who cares. Say amen, sit down and let the presidency scramble! You'll be great!

Em, I know you will a great job. I too, HATE speaking in front of people. My voice gets all shaky and I just look uncomfortable. But I am sure that people will love you and there is always that one person who takes up half the time commenting or answering all the questions. Each ward has one!!!! So I know you will do a fantastic job. Good luck!
