Aunt Ruby's the Bomb!

We just dropped Rebecca off at the airport this morning and Jack and Charlie don't quite know what to do with themselves without their latest favorite playmate. She came for a long weekend and we all had so much fun with her! I just loved this picture she took of Charlie settling in with a book at the library.

The main event for the weekend was heading down to Nauvoo and Carthage on Sunday. Surprisingly, Jack and Charlie did really well and we all agreed the day was a success! We didn't get home until almost 8:00 that night and the kids were real troopers. Jack amused himself throughout the day finding as many sticks as he could and tried to throw a few of them into the Mississippi River.

My three favorite boys:

Rebecca peppered our tour guide Kevin with all kinds of questions. I'm sure he was glad to see us drive away at the end of the day! Really though, he was awesome!

It was a nice day, but chilly!
Poor Rebecca endured the two-hour drive each way smashed between the boys. Looks like we may need to look into that minivan!
All of us outside Carthage. Jack was intrigued by the jail inside, but was happier to get outside and run around.

And another stick:
These two cannot sit next to each other without being shoulder to shoulder. They are best buddies and love to do everything together. Jack probably gave Charlie thirty kisses just during this lunch!

Thanks again, Rebecca for coming! We seriously love having family come visit, and have been so thrilled to have so many come recently (and looking forward to Tommy next month)! We miss you already!
