He Did It!

Last night was Trent's graduation dinner from orthodontic residency. It's hard to believe all these years of hard work and jumping through hoops are coming to an end in just two weeks and we will be moving onto real life! Words cannot express how excited we are and also how proud I am of Trent for all his hard work he has put in to accomplish this goal. Last night was a night for celebration! Dinner was at One Twenty Six in Iowa City and was divine, as usual. Here are all the graduating residents and their spouses (Layne and Kristi, Niles and Sarah, Albert and Rachel, Trent and me, and Nathan and Suzanne): Dr. Karin Southard and Trent. He did orthodontic research with her during dental school and she has been such an amazing support to him. He clicked with her from day one and feels really lucky to have known her:

Dr. Tom Southard (ortho department chair) and Trent:
Don't even ask me what they're doing. It had been a long night!
Trent and Albert:
Tanner (Trent's younger brother in the program) and Trent. Tanner gave a little "roast" to Trent and I had to reflect on how funny it is that all these years later Trent is still being teased for the same things he was roasted for at our wedding dinner (think speeding tickets). It was really cute!
Dr. Southard and all orthodontic residents:

Rachel brought a darling cake for Albert since it was also his 30th birthday! Look how cute!
A rare shot of the two of us:
Congratulations again, Trent! I couldn't be more proud of you!

Jack's Preschool Graduation

These photos are all out of order, but I don't have the patience to go back and re-do them so bear with me! I just had to post some pictures from Jack's preschool graduation earlier this week. Even though this was just his first year, I'm so proud of him and all that he's learned at school. He has absolutely loved preschool and wishes he could go every day. Here are a couple shots from the night. This is when his teacher was reading what each child said they'd learned that year at school. Jack said he learned that he loves bugs. His 1 year certificate:

Singing The Wheels on the Bus with his class:
Charlie was so happy to clap for all the kids and when they called out Jack's name he yelled, "I see Jack! I see Mrs. Bounds!"

Tuckered out from the big night:

The after-party:
Congratulations, Jack!
